Foreign Nationals of Extraordinary Ability
Individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary ability in art, science, business, education or athletics may be able to apply for O-1 nonimmigrant visas. In order to obtain an O-1 visa, an applicant must meet very high standards and submit documentation proving a record of extraordinary achievement and acclaim.
An agent or prospective employer in the U.S. must file an O visa on the applicant's behalf. Once the government approves the O-1 petition, the individual can then apply for an O-1 visa. Learn more by speaking with the Cleveland-based firm of Robert Brown LLC.
Applying for an O-1 Visa
In order to be approved for an O-1 visa, an applicant must show that he or she is recognized as one of the top members of that field, has been internationally recognized and can provide other documentary evidence of achievements in the field of arts, sciences, education, business or athletics.
The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services will consult with an appropriate peer group to learn the group's opinion of the applicant's achievements and whether the position in question requires a person of extraordinary ability to complete.
At Robert Brown LLC, our attorneys can review your petition, visa application and the documentation required. We will also assist with the consultation, schedule the visa interview at the U.S. Embassy and prepare you for that interview.
