2014 diversity visa program begins October 2, 2012

The Diversity Immigration Visa is a program mandated by congress that makes 55,000 diversity visas available each year. The recipients of the diversity visa are selected randomly from all applicants who meet the stringent eligibility criteria from countries with low amounts of immigration to the US.

Applicants wanting to apply for the Diversity Visa Program should be cautious of websites fraudulently posing as official United States government sites. There is no fee to download and complete the Diversity Visa application. Information regarding the program is available at the U.S. Department of State website: travel.state.gov

Registration for the 2014 Diversity Visa Program (DV-2013) will begin on Tuesday, October 2, 2012. The registration period will end on Saturday, November 3, 2012.
