DHS Announces 18-Month Redesignation and 18-Month Extension of Temporary Protected Status for Syria

The Department of Homeland Security announced the extension of Temporary Protected Status for nationals of Syria (or persons without nationality who last habitually resided in Syria). Current beneficiaries may extend their TPS immediately. The last day to file your extension is March 6, 2015.

In addition to extending TPS for current beneficiaries, nationals of Syria who were not initially eligible, may now be. In general, if you are a national of Syria who has resided in the United States since January 5, 2015, you may now obtain TPS.
