Alexis Loucks is a legal assistant at Brown Immigration Law and joined the Cleveland, OH office in 2018. Alexis graduated from Ashland University in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree, with a major in Psychology and minors in Spanish and Criminal Justice. During her time at Ashland University, Alexis tutored students in Psychology and Spanish courses.
Alison Finn in a Law Clerk at Brown Immigration Law and works primarily from the firm’s Cleveland, Ohio office. Alison completed her Bachelor’s degree at Lafayette College and her Master’s degree at Kent State University. She was an International Student Advisor at the University of North Dakota before attending law school. Alison is currently pursuing her law degree at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH where she has a concentration in Immigration Law. She will graduate in May 2019.
Carmen Rosado is a Bilingual Administrative Assistant in our Cleveland office. She studied at Bryant & Stratton College where she received her Associates in Applied Science in Criminal Justice before joining Brown Immigration Law in May 2016.
Ekaterina Marceta is a legal assistant at Brown Immigration Law working in the Cleveland, Ohio office. She received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Law from the University of Novi Sad in Serbia. Prior to starting with Brown Immigration Law in 2015, Ekaterina lived and worked in Novi Sad as a Judicial associate with the Higher Court and volunteered with the Human Trafficking Legal Clinic. She also volunteers with the Legal Aid Society of Cleveland. Ekaterina is fluent in Serbian, Croatian, Spanish, Romanian and English.
Karina Navarro is a trilingual Legal Assistant at Brown Immigration Law working in the North Carolina office. She is fluent in Spanish, English, and Italian. Karina graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a double major in Psychology and Political Science. Prior to working at Brown Immigration Law, Karina was working as a Research Assistant and volunteered as a teacher assistant for ESL coursework and other various assistance to students of different ages and educational needs.
Case Manager and Notary
Nabelh Manaa is a bilingual case manager and notary public at Brown Immigration Law in Cleveland, OH. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Cleveland State University, where she majored in Psychology and minored in the Arabic Language. During her time at Cleveland State, Nabelh tutored students from varying backgrounds in Arabic and Sociology courses and is a member of the highest international foreign language society, Phi Sigma Iota. Nabelh is fluent in English and Arabic and has studied German and French.
Roxana Ortiz is an Administrative Assistant for Brown Immigration Law working in our North Carolina Office. She grew up in Durham, North Carolina and is pursuing her paralegal certificate at Durham Tech Collage. Roxana is fluent in English and Spanish and has had over three years of administrative experience before joining Brown Immigration Law in September 2018.
Nora Cuthbertson is the Billing Administrator and works in the Cleveland, OH office. Nora graduated from John Carroll University in University Heights, OH with a major in Finance and a minor in Theology and Religious Studies. Before joining Brown Immigration Law in April 2018, Nora was a fulltime volunteer at Catholic Charities of Louisville in Louisville, KY working in ESL classes with refugees and immigrants.
Tiana Ortiz is a legal assistant and works from the firm’s Cleveland Office. Attended Cleveland State University for Studio Art and Design. Prior to working with Brown Immigration Law, Tiana assisted with the instruction of film photography for children ages 10-18.
Marta is a North Carolina certified paralegal who joined Brown Immigration Law in 2017 after a year of working as a paralegal in criminal law. After receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Education, she spent five years teaching in Budapest, Hungary. Marta graduated from the UNC Paralegal Certificate program in 2017, where she is now an instructor.
Maritza Zuñiga is a bilingual paralegal at Brown Immigration Law working in the North Carolina office since March 2018. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Maritza also graduated from the UNC Paralegal Certificate program. She has worked as an immigration paralegal (primarily family-based immigration) for ten years. Maritza is fluent in Spanish and English and has studied French, Italian, and Portuguese.
Lisamarie Alvarez is a bilingual Legal Assistant at Brown Immigration Law in Cleveland, OH. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan, where she majored in Political Science, Philosophy, & Sexuality Studies. She went on to get her JD from Western Michigan University and is planning on taking the Ohio bar exam in February 2020. Throughout her college and law school career, she worked closely with vulnerable populations, including immigrants and LGBTQ refugees, prompting her to seek a career in immigration law.
Lindsey Kinderdine is a legal assistant working in our Cleveland office. She grew up in Kalamazoo, MI and is a graduate of The Ohio State University with a degree in International Studies and Spanish. During her time at university, she worked in the linguistics lab and completed an international research project on the sociopolitical discourse in Chilean media. Prior to starting with Brown Immigration Law in 2018, Lindsey lived and worked in Valparaíso, Chile as an ESL teacher for students aged 8-80.
Joanie Kaplan is a Paralegal at Brown Immigration Law and works from the firm’s Cleveland, Ohio office. A graduate of the University of Cincinnati where she obtained a BS in Education, Joanie has been working in the immigration law area (primarily employment-based immigration) for over 20 years.
Kelsey Sprenger is a bilingual Legal Assistant at Brown Immigration Law who works in the firm’s Cleveland office. She received her bachelor’s degree from John Carroll University, where she studied Sociology; Spanish; and Peace, Justice, and Human Rights. While at JCU, Kelsey volunteered with Nepalese refugee children and Spanish-speaking immigrants, which prompted her to seek a career in immigration.
Sophia Cromwell is a legal assistant at Brown Immigration working in the Cleveland, Ohio office. She received her bachelor’s degree from John Carroll University in Cleveland, where she double majored in Political Science and Spanish and Hispanic Studies and was a member of the Sigma Delta Pi, the Spanish National Honor Society. Sophia also studied abroad in Madrid, Spain for a semester where she took International Relations courses at Comillas Pontifical University.
