The Obama administration continues to conduct silent raids on businesses employing illegal workers, most recently targeting fast-food restaurants. Audits by U.S. Immigrations and Custom Enforcement (ICE) are looking at records from over a thousand employers, including those in the food-processing and hospitality industries. According to the Wall Street Journal, the audits are the largest operation since 2009.
ICE agents are visiting each company to examine I-9 compliance (the forms completed upon hiring of new employees that are meant to verify identify and employment eligibility).
